Haijima, Hiroshima & beyond

Well, here I am in Haijima, near Tokyo, after many hours of air-conditioned captivity. Don't know how Scanner manages it; airports almost every week etc. I'm sure he could write a travel guide on how to survive in this way.

Well, here are a couple of pics - me at the site of the first atomic bomb explosion, the dome in Hiroshima. 200,000 people died immediately after the first explosion.............impossible to imagine.....

Also, one of the older Shinkansen (bullet) trains. The train system here is incredible - on time to the second and just generally very efficient.

I will be going to Tokyo from 16th-30th August. Please email me at general_dynamics at yahoo.com if you want to keep in touch.

In the meantime, I have created some mixes for Si_COMM to include in the Hyperlanguage project for Resonance FM. These were made largely by processing the human voice into a myriad of sounds and textures.
