The Nagamatzu Archive contains several tracks recorded between 1983-1988. Another remix project which I finished last week was for Geomatic. They are two Lithuanian guys living and working in Amsterdam, who have a new album coming out later this year on the M-Tronic label. It's powerful music and recorded to the highest quality, so will be well worth getting hold of.

At the Hyperlanguage event yesterday, I used several different layouts in Bidule to process the audio coming from two other computers. I was replacing filters, processors and connections live. On the left is one of the layouts.

DLL mix 1 is a track that was bashed together in Ableton Live 5. It uses snatches of Hebrew and Cantonese dialogue, a DLL file converted into audio with Audacity, some NASA guys talking, the Live 5 drum box 'Impulse' and maybe one or two effects :-pThis is the first quick mix to see how the elements fit together.

Runaway is a 130 bpm track which uses an old track created in Cubase mixed with new elements in Live 5. The switching in and out of elements within the track was done on-the-fly.

I Show Good Bit is my first experiment with Ableton Live 5, mixing various beats and samples from my collection. It uses voices from Apollo 13, the Space Shuttle and beats/sequences from Reason 3.

No better way to relax than creating a layout in Plogue Bidule and improvising for 20 minutes or so. Sometimes the results can be amazing. It's a powerful Dual Processor PC (3.6GHz per processor) with a nice 500GB hard drive array for capture of multiple audio and video streams in various streaming and digital TV formats. Peff (Kurt Kurasaki) has written a fantastic book to help users of Reason 3 to explore every angle of this amazing software studio. I was lucky enough to be asked to contribute a track to the CD Rom.
